Job summary

Washtenaw Community College seeks a part-time Testing Center Proctor to administer examinations and support testing operations on campus.

This role requires reliable schedule adherence (Mon 12pm–5pm, Tue 2:30–8pm, Fri 10:30am–4:30pm) and competence with GED, TEAS, CLEP, and other high-level tests, plus the use of AI-assisted tools while maintaining confidentiality. This position offers a stable part-time schedule and opportunities at Washtenaw Community College.

Qualifications

• Must not be a current WCC student.
• Equivalent of two (2) years’ work experience.
• Ability to read and understand the agency policies and procedures manual.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows XP; able to troubleshoot and multitask.
• Ability to organize workload and work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be available to work Saturday hours.
• Ability to use AI-supported tools and assess AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

• Proctor computerized and paper-based examinations per directions and center procedures.
• Administer GED, TEAS, CLEP and other high-level tests.
• Invigilate testing rooms to prevent cheating and misconduct.
• Pass certification tests from outside agencies (Accuplacer, ETS, PearsonVue).
• Administer placement testing on campus.
• Monitor testing activity and handle prohibited behavior.
• Assist the Manager to create reports and package test documents for agencies.
• Cooperate with agencies and instructors in resolving irregularities and examinee complaints.
• Administer testing at off-campus locations as needed.
• Attend training and briefing sessions; use AI tools to support duties while maintaining confidentiality.
