Washtenaw Community College is seeking a part-time Testing Center Proctor in Ann Arbor to administer GED, TEAS, CLEP and other tests in a secure environment. The role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, ability to work Saturdays, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include monitoring exams, assisting with reports, and coordinating with testing agencies. The position emphasizes confidentiality and adherence to college policies while supporting student testing services.

Formación

• Must not be a current WCC student.
• Equivalent of two (2) years’ work experience.
• Ability to read and understand the policies and procedures contained in the supervisor’s manual.
• Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office Software and Windows XP operating system.
• Ability to organize own workload and to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be available to work Saturday hours.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use workplace technology including AI-supported tools and to maintain confidentiality.

• Proctor computerized and paper-based examinations according to instructor directions and Center procedures.
• Administer GED, TEAS, CLEP and other high-level secure tests.
• Invigilate testing rooms to detect cheating and misconduct.
• Pass certification tests by outside agencies (Accuplacer, ETS, PearsonVUE) and renew certifications annually.
• Administer placement testing on campus.
• Monitor testing activity to discourage prohibited behavior.
• Assist the Manager in creating reports and packing test documents for agencies.
• Cooperate with testing agencies and instructors to resolve irregularities and examinee complaints.
• Administer testing at off-campus locations as needed.
• Attend trainings and briefings as required.
• Utilize technology to support duties while complying with confidentiality and policies.
• Regular attendance on campus is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

This Part time Testing Center Proctor will administer testing to examinees.

We have multiple positions available with a variety of schedules and hours. Availability to work at least two Saturdays per month is required.

Essential Duties include:

• Proctor computerized and paper-based examinations to comply with instructor’s directions and the Center’s procedures.
• Administer GED , TEAS , CLEP and other high-level secure computer tests.
• Invigilate the testing rooms for cheating and misconduct.
• Pass the Certification Tests by outside testing agencies (Accuplacer, ETS and PearsonVue) to be certified to administer the revenue generating tests provided by these companies. Update their skills by taking the certification tests once a year.
• Administer placement testing on campus.
• Monitor testing activity to discourage, detect and interdict prohibited behavior.
• Assist the Manger to create reports, complete forms, and package test documents to return to the agency.
• Cooperate with the testing agencies and instructors in resolving irregularities and investigation of examinees complaints.
• Administer testing at off campus locations as needed.
• Attend training and briefing sessions as needed.
• Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support the effective performance of assigned duties, enhance productivity, improve communication and information management, support decision-making, and other responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must not be a current WCC student.
• Equivalent of two (2) years’ work experience.
• Ability to read and understand the policies and procedures contained in the agency supervisor’s manual.
• Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office Software and Windows XP operating system. Established proficiency in computer troubleshooting, multiscreen functioning and platforms.
• Ability to organize own workload and to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be available to work Saturday hours.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to assess the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in the use of technology.
