Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is inviting applications for part-time instructors in Counseling to support Oxnard College, Moorpark College, and Ventura College. This pool is for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters and may be used to fill vacancies as they arise.

Under supervision of a dean, Counselors provide counseling, career guidance, and advisement to diverse students to help achieve academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, OR the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive counseling, career guidance, and advisement to students.
• Assist in developing educational plans and fostering academic success.
• Refer students to support services and monitor progress.
• Develop student plans for labor market entry and internships/work-study opportunities.
• Advise on matriculation processes and program requirements at other colleges.
