Job summary

The Ventura County Community College District invites applications for a part-time instructor pool across Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura Colleges. Positions are non-contract/temporary and may be filled as vacancies arise during Summer 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027 semesters.

Instructors provide classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds, with duties including curriculum planning, student assessment, and advising.

Qualifications

• Master’s in economics OR Bachelor’s in economics AND Master’s in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance or political science OR the equivalent*; OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
• Equivalency section may be required if degree titles do not exactly match minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds.
• Lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities and higher order thinking.
• Advise students on programs of study and transfer options; refer to support services as appropriate.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on class and online inquiries.
• Plan instruction per approved outlines and student learning outcomes; align with department goals.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, progress, and outcomes; submit related reports.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials; order materials as needed to ensure timely delivery.
• Revise course content and materials in light of new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi; collaborate to assess and revise measurable student performance indicators.
• May participate in curriculum and program development and department/ campus meetings.
• May participate in articulation and matriculation activities; may provide work direction to others.
