The Ventura County Community College District is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for future consideration for part-time counseling instructors across Oxnard, Moorpark and Ventura campuses. Qualifications

• Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic, personal and vocational counseling to students; assist in developing educational plans and survival skills; foster academic success to retain students.
• Refer students to support services and monitor progress; counsel on academic probation.
• Develop plans with students entering the labor market; identify skill training and internship opportunities.
• Counsel on career choices and matriculation processes; provide program information at other colleges.
• Assist in outreach to recruit eligible students and facilitate enrollment; conduct orientation events.
• Maintain records of counseling sessions; compile data and prepare reports on operations.
• Assist in preparing counseling publications and workshops for targeted populations.
• Advocate for students with special needs; collaborate with instructors and resources.
• Help develop programs focusing on access and retention for targeted populations.
• Provide work direction to others; perform related duties.
