Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a part-time Supervisor to join our campus-based retail teams. You will spend the majority of your time on the sales floor coaching and modeling exceptional customer service while supporting management in daily operations.

Responsibilities include training staff, overseeing store activities, enforcing loss prevention, and ensuring proper merchandising and operational readiness across departments and satellite locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting.
• Minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time on the sales floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.
• Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Enforce loss prevention procedures and keep area properly merchandised and operationally sound.
• Provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
• Assist in assigning work and providing focused direction to manage multiple projects.
