Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is hiring a part-time Supervisor to support the management team across one or more departments. You will spend most of your time on the sales floor coaching staff and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will help train team members, manage daily tasks, assist with store operations, and act as Manager-on-Duty when needed at campus locations. Prior retail experience and flexible scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coaches and models Wow customer service on the sales floor.
• Trains and oversees daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Maintains knowledge of store operations and assists with loss prevention.
• Provides guidance to customers and team members; escalates issues to management when needed.
• Assists as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the store manager or at satellite locations.
• Helps assign work and direct team members to complete multiple projects.
