Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful, driven part-time Supervisor to support store operations and provide outstanding customer service on campus. The role involves coaching staff, overseeing daily activities, and stepping in for management at the satellite location.

You will work varied weekly schedules year round, with duties including training, cash handling, and enforcing store policies while delivering a premium academic shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coach and model Wow customer service on the sales floor.
• Train and oversee daily activities of team members.
• Maintain knowledge of store operations and departments.
• Enforce loss prevention procedures.
• Ensure area is merchandised and store operates soundly.
• Act as Manager-on-Duty when needed.
