Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE College is seeking a part-time Supervisor to join our retail team. You will coach and model outstanding customer service on the sales floor, oversee daily team activities, and support store operations across departments.

The role requires 2+ years in retail and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. You will assist with sales transactions, train staff, and act as Manager-on-Duty when needed at various locations, ensuring excellent service to students and campus

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ retail experience preferred.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service to match products with customer needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and modeling exceptional customer service on the sales floor.
• Train and oversee daily work activity of team members in one or more departments.
• Ensure area is properly merchandised and store is operationally sound.
• Assist in processing sales transactions.
• Act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
• Assist with assigning work and directing team members to manage multiple projects.
