Job summary

Sorenson Communications is seeking a Part-Time Sign Language Interpreter for VRS in Dayton, Ohio. You will provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpretation, supporting our 24/7 VRS service and upholding FCC and RID standards.

The role requires flexibility to work Monday through Saturday between 7am and 7pm MT. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (associate or bachelor’s preferred), and interpreter certification as required by local regulations.

Qualifications

• Pass required skills assessment.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreting experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain compliance with licensure/certification requirements.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations and RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Adhere to Sorenson attendance policy and complete tasks promptly.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet VRS demands.
• Learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Work effectively in a team and support colleagues.
