Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in food preparation and serving is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations and read and write sentences.
• Skill with standard kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team, with good decision-making.
• Ability to relate well with co-workers, students, and staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in refrigerators/freezers briefly.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to follow State Health Department sanitation guidelines.
• Must lift 50 lbs. periodically and carry 20 lbs. frequently.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares garnishes and serves food items to meet quality and merchandising guidelines.
• Follows USDA/state guidelines when serving food.
• Receives and stores food in stock areas.
• Cleans work surfaces, dining and prep areas to health standards.
• Maintains sanitary conditions as required by health standards.
• Washes pots, pans, kettles, and other utensils.
• Assists in estimating, ordering, receiving, and stocking food supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
