Job summary

BioLife in Waterloo, IA is hiring a part-time Phlebotomist to greet donors, perform venipuncture, and support plasmapheresis operations. You will monitor donors, manage reactions, and assist with setup and troubleshooting of equipment, while maintaining donor records and following safety procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, willingness to work evenings/weekends/holidays, and adherence to glove protocols due to bloodborne pathogen exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk/stand for the entire shift.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays work.
• Prolonged glove wear due to bloodborne pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and manage donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
• Monitor donors and manage donor reactions.
• Setup, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with disposal.
• Record donor measurements and enter in the DIS.
• Coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate donors using Debit Card system.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements per company procedures (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
