Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Waterloo, IA, is hiring for a truly part-time plasma donor screener and phlebotomy support role. You will greet donors, perform screenings, and help ensure donor safety while supporting center operations.

The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts typically 4–6 hours, 3 or more days per week. A high school diploma is required, and prior customer-facing experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Glove usage due to potential bloodborne pathogen exposure.
• 1+ year in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, greet donors, and focus on donor safety.
• Screen new and repeat donors and record vital signs and finger stick results.
• Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain records, and coordinate donor compensation.
• Identify operational opportunities for process improvement and initiate changes per procedures.
• Work a variety of shifts including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
