Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Patient Relations Associate to support the Patient Relations Manager in coordinating communications between patients, families, staff and surgeons. The role focuses on resolving complaints and improving patient satisfaction, with emphasis on ethical handling and documentation.

Preferred qualifications include medical terminology knowledge, EMR experience, and a background in customer service or patient experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology and electronic medical record experience is preferred.
• Customer service/patient experience background is also preferred.
• Must have a general understanding of hospital and healthcare services.
• Possess positive interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Acts as communication liaison between patient, family, staff and surgeons.
• Resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner with support from Patient Representative and/or Manager as needed.
• Documents complaints, resolutions, and feedback through formalized process.
• Alerts Patient Relations Manager of potential ethical issues.
• Supports the rights of each patient.
• Investigates and retrieves missing patient belongings.
• Assist with ADA needs.
