Job summary

Virtua Health in Cherry Hill, NJ invites a part-time Registrar to join our patient access team. You will gather and enter patient demographic information, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, collect co-pays and deposits, and ensure accurate registrations in the hospital information system.

Qualifications

• 1 year or more of customer service in a professional setting; medical office/admittance experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle potentially stressful situations and multiple tasks.
• Basic typing and computer/word processing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains copies of patient insurance cards and identification and enters demographic, financial, insurance and clinical information into the system; verifies completeness and accuracy.
• Obtains signatures on consent, medical necessity, and regulatory documents; processes paperwork.
• Identifies, collects and processes co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and deposits; resolves billing issues with patient accounting and insurers.
• Identifies referrals and payment options for financial assistance.
• Provides additional office support including phones, scheduling, typing, filing, etc.
