IU Health is seeking a Part-Time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care and comfort for patients. You'll assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and linen changes, while monitoring vitals and reporting changes to nurses.

The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and compassionate bedside manner in a fast-paced hospital setting. Previous PCA experience is a plus; BLS certification required. This is a day shift, part-time position.

Qualifikationen

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to withstand high levels of tension and stress.
• Ability to manage a high workload within limited time.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Ability to perform physically demanding, repetitive movements.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.
• Ability to organize tasks and attend to details.

Aufgaben

• Provide bedside care including helping with meals, hydration, bathing, and linen changes.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Assist with safety measures such as gait belts and bed/chair alarms.
• Encourage walking and mobility as appropriate for patient well‑being.
