IU Health seeks a Part-Time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to deliver compassionate bedside care and assist with routine activities such as meals, mobility, and hygiene. The role supports the bedside RN by taking vitals and monitoring patient condition with safety protocols like gait belts and alarms.

Candidates should possess a current BLS certification or complete the IU Health PCA program, with strong communication and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualificações

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain concentration when subjected to interruptions and noise.
• Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
• Ability to set priorities and manage a high workload within a limited time for completion.
• Knowledge of procedures; equipment; software and standards related to patient care activities for non-licensed roles.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Ability to perform physically demanding; repetitious movements.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.
• Ability to organize tasks and attend to details.
• Knowledge of good personal hygiene and aseptic techniques to prevent infection.

Responsabilidades

• Provide compassionate bedside care by anticipating patient needs and assisting with meals, hydration, and hygiene.
• Assist with walking, baths, linen changes, and comfort measures.
• Support bedside RN by obtaining vitals and reporting changes promptly.
• Use safety measures such as gait belts and alarms and remain within arm's reach of patients.
• Maintain patient safety and deliver consistent, respectful care.
