UnitedHealth Group seeks a Part-Time Associate Patient Care Coordinator in Wantagh, NY. This position supports registration, appointment scheduling, telephony, and insurance verification within Optum Pediatric Urgent Care of Wantagh.

The role requires 1+ years in customer service or healthcare, EPIC knowledge, and cross-training as a medical assistant. Schedule includes a 20.5-hour week, with shifts across mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (be able to work with multiple monitors at one time).
• 1+ years of customer service or Healthcare related experience.
• Ability to travel to other offices if needed for coverage.
• Ability to abide by the code of conduct per Optum/UHG.
• Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile.
• Assists patients with signing in and completing registration.
• Schedule appointments for new or established patients.
• Follow the payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelines.
• Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages.
• Ability to maintain a work queue list; complete any pending actions e.g. referrals, scheduling appointments.
