UnitedHealth Group in West Islip, NY is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. You will greet patients, assist with registration, verify insurance, collect payments and coordinate follow-up care within a fast-paced care setting.

The role supports crossing as a medical assistant and requires 37.5 hours weekly with a varied schedule. UHG offers comprehensive benefits and a path to growth within Optum.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• 1+ years experience in a medical office performing scheduling, check-in/out, insurance verification, co-pays, and medical records.
• Ability to work the listed schedule and travel to local offices as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile.
• Assists patients with sign-in and registration.
• Enters and scans patient demographics and insurance into Epic.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and informs patients of benefits.
• Collects co-pays and patient balances.
• Answers calls and directs messages.
• Cross-train as a medical assistant.
• Coordinate follow-up care and scheduling of referrals and authorizations.
• Support care team to meet financial, clinical and service goals.
