Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Wantagh, NY is seeking a friendly, patient-focused Part-Time Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join Optum Pediatric Urgent Care. You will support registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and coordination of follow-up care while providing excellent customer service.

The role offers a 20.5-hour work week with a flexible evening/ weekend schedule, and opportunities to cross-train as a medical assistant within a supportive care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer service or healthcare front desk is preferred.
• Proficiency with computer systems and multi-monitor setups suggested.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and family members with a friendly attitude.
• Assist patients with sign-in and registration processes.
• Schedule appointments for new and established patients.
• Verify insurance and assist with patient payments according to policy.
• Answer calls promptly and direct messages as needed.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information into Epic.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care as needed.
