Job summary

Weingartz in Cedar Springs, MI is seeking a part-time Retail Sales Associate to help homeowners select and purchase outdoor power equipment. You will work on the showroom floor, conduct product demonstrations, answer questions, and build a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities include using interactive displays, identifying needs, following up on quotes, and keeping the showroom neat and well-tagged. Prior retail experience is preferred; lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of retail or sales experience preferred; outdoor power equipment sales experience beneficial.
• Excellent listening skills to respond to customers’ inquiries.
• Ability to work independently with light supervision.
• Careful attention to detail and numbers.
• Basic math and computer skills are required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Retail floor sales of handheld equipment, walk-behind equipment, lawn and garden tractors, and zero-turn riders to homeowners.
• Engage customers using store displays and interactive devices to build confidence.
• Identify customer needs and direct them to suitable products; use suggestive selling.
• Answer customer questions about products, pricing and billing; handle escalations.
• Assist customers in decisions about equipment based on needs; interactions in-store, on the phone, by email/text.
• Follow up on quotes and past sales to maximize opportunities.
• Demonstrate safe and effective use of equipment to customers.
• Know product specs, price, function and how it compares to competitors.
• Maintain showroom cleanliness, displays and tagging for merchandising.
• Load customer equipment and provide demonstrations and prepping of handheld equipment.
