Job summary

Weingartz, a family-owned and operated business, seeks a full-time outdoor power equipment technician in Utica, MI. You will perform maintenance, tune-ups, and repairs on lawnmowers, snow blowers, and commercial mowers, and service other outdoor power equipment.

You will diagnose issues, provide repair estimates, and update service orders while following safety procedures. Tools must be owned; lifting up to 50 pounds is required. Weingartz offers award-winning benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in small engine repair or similar mechanical repair experience required.
• Experience servicing commercial mowers, BOSS snowplows, and Kohler/Kawasaki engines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use tools and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Experience with small engine diagnostics and repair.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete work efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous mechanical experience in any industry is a plus; we are willing to train the right candidate on our equipment.
• Must have your own tools; tools may be provided initially to help you get started while building your tool set.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, tune-ups, diagnostics, and repairs on lawnmowers, snow blowers, commercial mowers, and other outdoor power equipment.
• Evaluate equipment issues and provide accurate estimates for repair needs, costs, and completion timelines.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, installations, and inspections while following technical procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and timely updates in the service order tracking system and review open service orders for specific requirements or outstanding issues.
• Complete work with accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Communicate with the Service Department team and customers to provide updates on repair status and ensure expectations are met.
• Maintain a positive and professional work environment by interacting with customers, coworkers, and management in a manner that reflects and supports the Weingartz values.
