Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a dedicated Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in New York to ensure a great patient experience. You will prepare patients for both on-site and remote examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and explain each step of the process while serving as a liaison between patients and Optometrists.

The role supports on-site procedures and remote exams, requiring you to document results, coordinate with clinicians, and guide patients through the care journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical/medical settings.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for on-site and remote examinations and complete pre-exam tests.
• Explain testing steps to patients and document results in EMR.
• Assist with remote eye exams and coordinate video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail associates with doctor recommendations.
• Maintain patient records and assist with insurance preauthorizations.
