Job summary

Vaco is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit to provide finance continuity through an Interim Controller role. This part-time consultant position offers a hybrid work setup in Mesa, AZ, with an anticipated 3-6 month duration and a start in early November.

You will manage daily bookkeeping, grant tracking, and support monthly closes while collaborating with an external CPA for year-end processes. The ideal candidate brings nonprofit and grant accounting expertise, advanced QuickBooks Online

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit accounting and grant accounting.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Flexible consulting environment with changing workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping, check processing, and reimbursement activities.
• Track grant expenditures, gift cards, and project spending for major foundation grants.
• Support monthly close activities including bank reconciliations, deferred revenue, and restricted net asset reporting.
• Partner with external CPA on month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning initiatives.
