Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC in Dallas is seeking a dedicated Controller to lead nonprofit client engagements and deliver transformative accounting services. The role combines virtual and on-site work, with a 35-hour week and opportunities for professional growth.

You will oversee financial reporting, grant management, audits, internal controls, and cross-client coordinating with boards and finance committees.

Qualifications

• Passionate about working in or supporting non‑profit organizations
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7+ years accounting experience
• Experience working in a remote environment preferred
• Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis
• Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems
• Non‑profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience a plus
• CPA certification is a plus
• Bilingual‑English/Spanish a plus
• Part-time employees are expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our clients

Responsibilities

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission
• Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations
• Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures
• Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintaining workpapers
• Analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting
• Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting
• Prepare for and manage annual audit
• Client and staff training opportunities
