Job summary

SpartanNash in Battle Creek, Michigan is seeking a part-time Meat Cutter to expertly cut, weigh, and prepare a variety of meats in accordance with department standards. The role includes preparing value-added products, following recipes, and supporting merchandising and stock rotation.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, with preferred one year of retail experience and prior meat-cutting exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year retail or related experience preferred
• Prior experience as a Meat Cutter or Apprentice preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts per guidelines.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per guidelines.
• Maintain clean, stock shelves and displays; merchandise properly.
