Job summary

SpartanNash in Holland, Michigan is seeking a part-time Meat Cutter to properly cut all cuts of meat and prepare related products. The role requires following company standards for quality, weight, and trim while supporting store profitability and customer service.

The position involves cutting, grinding, packaging, pricing, and merchandising; maintaining safety and cleanliness; and assisting with other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Prior meat cutting or apprentice experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Knowledge of suggestive selling and product details.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to cooking cuts.
• Grind and tray meats and make sausage per recipes.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
• Rotate and merchandise shelves and displays.
• Notify the manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Know differences in price, taste, preparation, use of products.
• Practice suggestive selling with customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety, and food safety/cleaning guidelines.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
