Job summary

SpartanNash in Michigan is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team. You will cut, weigh, and prepare a variety of meats, follow recipes, rotate stock, and ensure product quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior experience as Meat Cutter or Apprentice strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products.
• Detail Oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausages.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per guidelines.
• Properly fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Be familiar with products carried and price/usage differences.
• Practice suggestive selling with customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked department.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines and Food Safety standards.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May assist other departments as needed.
