Job summary

SpartanNash in Petoskey, Michigan is seeking a part-time Meat Cutter. You will cut and weigh steaks and chops, prepare value-added products, and ensure accuracy in pricing and packaging. You will stock displays, follow safety guidelines, and assist customers with product knowledge.

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in retail, and preferably prior meat cutting experience or as an apprentice. Physical readiness and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year retail or related experience preferred.
• Prior Meat Cutter or Apprentice experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, and bone carcass sections to reduce to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
