Job summary

Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a PT Customer Service Substitute for the Downtown Main Library and branches. The role supports staff in the absence of regular workers, handling circulation tasks and assisting customers across locations.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Must agree to work at a minimum of five library branches.
Must work a minimum of 8 hours per month after introductory training requirements have been met.

Responsibilities

Circulates materials to customers, including checking in/out, processing holds, registering customers, and collecting fees.
Shelves returned materials.
Searches for requested materials.
Assists customers with technologies.
Assists customers with resumes, job searches, internet use and basic computer usage.
Performs readers’ advisory and reference services.
Refers customers to location leadership as appropriate.
Supports the Library’s mission and DEI commitments.
