Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time cook to support the Sunday lunch program and holiday service. You will prepare meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, manage inventory, create simple menus, and work with volunteers to ensure smooth service.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year cooking experience, and ServSafe Kitchen Manager certification or ability to obtain within 2 months. You will follow safety guidelines, record orders, and support a caring community.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe Kitchen Manager certification, or obtain within 2 months of hire.
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed.
• Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food for lunch program on Saturdays and Holidays.
• Maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Assisting with food distribution biweekly.
• Adhering to ServSafe food handling regulations.
• Ensuring food orders and deliveries are recorded and stored properly.
• Working with volunteers that are assigned to the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
