Job summary

The Salvation Army in Bay City, MI, is seeking a part-time Cook to support the on-site Sunday and holiday lunch program. You will prepare meals, maintain a clean kitchen, manage inventory, and collaborate with volunteers.

Responsibilities include assisting with biweekly food distribution, following ServSafe guidelines, recording orders and deliveries, and helping with menu planning. A high school diploma or GED is required, with ServSafe certification preferred or obtainable within 2 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Current ServSafe Kitchen Manager certification or obtain within 2 months.
• Safe From Harm training completed or willing to complete.
• Valid driver’s license and pass MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for Sunday and holiday lunch programs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with food distribution biweekly.
• Record food orders and deliveries accurately.
• Work with volunteers in the kitchen.
• Adhere to ServSafe food handling regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
