The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to prepare nutritious meals from donated items and pantry stock. The role emphasizes proper sanitation, order, and adherence to Health Department standards.

You will assist with menu planning, inventory management, and daily food preparation for lunch and dinner while supporting volunteers and ensuring safety throughout service hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; related experience encouraged.
• Pass background checks.
• Complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days, Serve Safe, CPR and AED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a weekly/monthly menu for lunch and dinner based on inventory.
• Coordinate daily food preparation and serving with sanitation standards.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Manage inventory, rotate stock, and place food orders.
• Prepare required reports (gifts in kind) and report maintenance issues.
