Job summary

Community Partners in Action, Inc. in Hartford, CT is seeking a Human Services Worker for a part-time 24-hour Work Release Program. You will supervise residents, support daily needs, and promote safety and accountability within the program.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, with preferred associate or bachelor’s degree. Experience in human services for justice-involved individuals and substance use or mental health concerns is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience in human services with justice-involved clients who have substance abuse or mental health needs is preferred.
• Ability to interact with multi-cultural populations; crisis management skills are desirable.
• Valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and additional hours.
• Candidates with lived experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor resident activities; ensure a safe environment.
• Advocate for participants and encourage program participation and accountability.
• Mediate conflicts to resolve issues using a solutions-focused approach.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff, and visitors at all times.
• Promote respect, empathy, and eliminate bias within the program.
• Maintain shift logs and promptly report incidents to supervisors.
