Job summary

Community Partners in Action, Inc. seeks a Human Services Worker for the Work Release Program in Hartford, CT. The role involves supervising residents, facilitating program participation, and ensuring safety and compliance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Ability to work with multi-cultural populations and maintain crisis management skills.
• Must have a valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Eligible to work weekends/holidays and extra hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor resident activities in accordance with program policies.
• Advocate for participants and encourage program participation.
• Mediate resident conflicts using solution-focused approaches.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Promote respect, empathy, belonging, and elimination of bias.
• Serve as a positive role model and uphold ethics and professional conduct.
• Supervise residents during breaks and assist with meeting resident needs.
• Understand and implement agency policies including safety and security procedures.
• Maintain shift logs and complete incident reports when applicable.
• Ensure proper identification and conduct bag searches as required.
• Conduct client intake/orientation after hours and perform random drug testing.
• Document activities accurately and in a timely manner; adhere to universal precautions.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; transport residents as needed; ensure reliable attendance.
