Job summary

Community Partners in Action (CPA) in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Human Services Worker for a part-time 24-hour per week Work Release Program. The role entails supervising residents, ensuring safety, advocating for program participation, and mediating conflicts in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED plus additional education, with preferred experience in human services for justice-involved clients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience in human services with justice-involved clients with substance abuse, mental health or related issues is preferred.
• Must have a valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and additional hours. Lived experience is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor resident activities per program policies; ensure safety and de-escalate when needed.
• Advocate for participants to encourage participation and accountability.
• Mediate conflicts with a solutions-focused approach.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff, visitors, and providers at all times.
• Promote respect, belonging, and elimination of bias in beliefs and systems.
• Model professional conduct and code of ethics at all times.
