Job summary

United Pentecostal Church International is seeking a Financial Technician I to ensure accurate processing of donations and deposits. The role focuses on timely handling of checks, coding and batching for deposits, and assisting with remote deposits.

Responsibilities include processing various payment types, answering donor inquiries, and maintaining organized deposit records. Strong detail orientation and teamwork across divisions are essential for accurate accounting support.

Qualifications

• Possess a working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting; degree is not required but preferred.
• Ability to learn donor software application.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat (creating or editing PDF documents).
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Experience with a Ten-key calculator with high-speed keying and accuracy.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Experience with office equipment (specifically computer, scanner, and printer).
• Knowledge of administrative office procedures and terminology.
• Careful attention to detail and customer service.
• Ability to work well within a team and across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Sort incoming mail by division/department and identify envelopes with checks.
• Open incoming mail by division/department via automated machines.
• Open envelopes for reviewing and coding documents and checks.
• Group coded documents into batches for deposits.
• Group batches by division to create deposits.
• Prepare deposit paperwork for multiple batches.
• Assist with remote depositing of checks.
• Prepare currency and coin deposits for US, Canadian, and other currencies.
• Prepare batches of credit card payments for processing.
• Handle donor calls about last payment or account questions.
• Scan documentation for record-keeping purposes.
