Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services is seeking a Care Attendant to provide personal care and health-related services designed to maintain residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. This part-time role includes every-other-weekend shifts, with a base pay range and weekend differential.

The successful candidate will assist with activities of daily living, monitor resident condition, administer medications as delegated by RN, and document changes.

Qualifications

• ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate preferred but not required.
• Sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
• Must read, write and speak English and pass a state background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the resident with personal cares such as shampooing, showering, applying lotions, nail and foot care; medication administration as delegated by RN.
• Assist with dressing, grooming and oral care as assigned.
• Assist residents with hearing aids and glasses and promote independence.
• Lead or assist resident activities as scheduled and assigned.
• Observe residents and report changes to RN; document changes and vital signs as instructed.
• Maintain safety practices and follow care plan policies; participate in disaster drills and training.
