Job summary

Minnewaska Community Health Services is seeking a Part Time Care Attendant to provide personal care and health-related services designed to maintain residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. This role reports to the Housing Manager and requires compassion, reliability and teamwork.

You will assist with daily living activities, administer medications as delegated by the RN, observe changes in condition, and follow care plans while maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• ACNA/NAR or HHA certificate is preferred, but not required.
• Care Attendant must possess sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.
• Needs to read, write and speak English and pass state required background study form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal cares (hair, showering, lotions, nails, etc.).
• Assist with dressing, grooming and oral care.
• Aid in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Promote independence and self-help skills.
• Assist in treatments as delegated by the RN.
• Observe and report changes in residents to RN.
• Medication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
• Take and record vital signs as instructed.
• Assist with meal preparation following special meal plans.
• Lead or assist resident activities as scheduled.
• Follow HIPAA and care plan policies.
• Practice safe body mechanics and transfer techniques.
• Participate in disaster drills when on duty.
• Maintain safety devices per care plan.
