Eugene School District 4J is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students within an 0.875 FTE framework, seven hours per day. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., at a district site in Eugene, Oregon.

The role involves assisting in lesson delivery, monitoring progress, and performing clerical tasks, with documentation required to demonstrate Highly Qualified status under Oregon regulations.

Qualifications

• Must meet Highly Qualified status per Oregon ORS 581-037-0006.
• Transcripts showing 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or a diploma.
• Documentation of state or local tests in reading, writing and math.

Responsibilities

• Confer with teacher and assist in lesson preparation; instruct students and administer tests.
• Monitor student progress and record grades; support IEP reporting.
• Tutor one-to-one or in small groups; reinforce curriculum and skills.
• Prepare materials, maintain filing system and update bulletin boards.
• Supervise students in the Resource Room and hallways; manage behavior.
• Assist in guiding emotional and social development; support health habits.
• Orient substitute teachers to curriculum and materials; assist with conferences.
• May budget for materials and inventory; stock shelves and order supplies.
• Support math and/or reading instruction and ensure regular attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

Two years of post-secondary study (72 quarter hours or 48 semester credits)
