Job summary

Eugene School District 4J is seeking educational assistant substitutes to join an on-going pool. The role includes clerical tasks, instructional support in classrooms, and tutoring to help students while freeing teachers to plan lessons.

Applicants should have at least two years of post-secondary study or an associate degree; bilingual proficiency and multicultural experience are strongly preferred. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with and lead students in group and individual activities.
• Instructional and behavioral management skills.
• Ability to use current office technology and equipment (e.g., computer systems, fax, copiers).
• Ability to use or learn word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Confer with teacher and assist in lesson preparation and review coverage.
• Monitor and supervise students during activities and record progress.
• Collect, sort and grade assignments; maintain grade ledger.
• Tutor one-to-one or in small groups; assign extra work for learners.
• Prepare lessons and materials; assist in distributing and organizing materials.
