ECS4Kids, formerly Episcopal Children’s Services, is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide a warm, nurturing educational environment for children aged birth to 5 years. You will support daily activities, follow approved curriculum, and partner with families to foster language, cognitive and social development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; DCF 45-hour training preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development (birth to 5 years).
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Become the Primary Caregiver/Teacher when a regular classroom teacher is absent.
• Familiarize self with the day’s planned activities and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Provide a warm, nurturing environment and uphold ECS Discipline Policy.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain portfolios and records during extended staff absences and assist with kitchen duties.
