Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide a warm, safe classroom environment while regular teachers are absent. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, DCF 45-hour training, and experience in child care.

You will implement curriculum, support families, and help children develop language, cognitive and social skills. The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, adherence to safety and licensing standards, and involvement in daily activities to foster a loving learning

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and DCF 45-hour training.
• Experience in a child care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow the approved curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Be the Primary Caregiver/Teacher when a regular classroom teacher is absent.
• Familiarize with the day’s planned activities.
• Assist in developmentally appropriate activities for each child.
• Provide a nurturing, positive environment and uphold ECS policies.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain compliance with safety, record-keeping and program standards.
• Assist in kitchen and cleaning duties as assigned.
