Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Buxton, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in daily living tasks, home and community settings, and to help them reach personal goals.

This part-time afternoon position offers on-the-job training, flexible scheduling, and the chance to work with a compassionate team. Reliable transportation, a driver’s license, and basic caregiving skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in community settings.
• Assist with housekeeping, meals preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care and diapering; and employment support.
• May transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record.
