Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities complete everyday tasks and reach their goals in their homes and communities.

This part-time, afternoon-shift role is based in Buxton, NC and surrounding areas with local travel; you will provide in-home care, assist with chores, personal care, transportation, and schedule planning.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position; on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal, detail-oriented, and dependable.
• Proficient with EHR systems or quick to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking and cleaning; personal care.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
