Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with IDD by helping them complete daily tasks and achieve goals in their homes and communities in Buxton, NC and nearby areas.

The role is part-time with afternoon shifts and requires compassionate, dependable care. You will assist with housekeeping, personal care, meal prep, transportation, documentation in the electronic health system, and ongoing training including CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry-level position; on-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge of housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and cleaning; personal care including bathing, dressing, toileting; and employment support.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize schedule for daily activities.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system.
