Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in completing daily living tasks and achieving personal goals.

This part-time, afternoon/after-school role covers Zebulon and surrounding areas with local community travel. You will provide in-home and community-based support, helping with housekeeping, meals, personal care, transportation, and scheduling, with daily documentation in an electronic health system.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal, detail-oriented, and dependable responsibilities.
• Proficient with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meals, personal care, and transportation.
• Plan and organize the client’s schedule; participate in appointments and errands.
• Document daily care in the electronic health record system.
• Support families by offering reliable care and communication.
