Job summary
Endeavor Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator – Department Based for Elmhurst Hospital. This role focuses on staff development, mentoring, and bedside education while maintaining clinical proficiency.
The position is part-time (0.3 FTE), with hours Monday to Friday, days. You will lead education initiatives, precept new hires, and collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager to improve safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or diploma with bachelor’s in a health-related field.
- Current Illinois nursing license and relevant certifications.
- Minimum of five years clinical experience in a medical center or hospital.
- Experience teaching adult learners and developing education programs.
- Strong communication and teamwork across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as needed while educating staff.
- Serve as a clinical resource and facilitate just-in-time learning.
- Schedule flexible educational activities across days.
- Mentor and role-model for new and existing staff.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to assess education needs.
- Lead onboarding and unit-based competency initiatives.
- Promote safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience.
