Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for the Lab Support department. The role requires evenings 2:30pm-11pm, 24 hours per week, with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will train LTAs and students, monitor workflows, and ensure timely phlebotomy services across the lab. Responsibilities include supervisory duties, performance of venipunctures, and coordinating with LIS and other departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy experience and lab experience required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; ASCP eligible within a year.

Responsibilities

• Train new LTAs and students; maintain competency checklists.
• Coordinate and monitor activities of LTAs on assigned shifts.
• Distribute work assignments; liaison between Laboratory and other departments.
• Perform venipunctures with accuracy and safety; troubleshoot LIS devices.
