Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Laboratory Technician Assistant (clinical lab assistant/phlebotomist) for the Lab Support department. This part-time role is 24 hours per week, with evening shifts 2:30pm–11pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays as needed.

The position involves training LTAs and phlebotomy students, managing daily workflow, performing venipuncture, and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely phlebotomy services.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience and lab experience required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred; ASCP certification/eligible within a year.

Responsibilities

• Training of all new LTAs and students, maintaining current competency checklists.
• Coordinates and monitors activities of the LTAs on assigned shifts.
• Distributes work assignments and acts as a liaison between the Laboratory and other Departments.
• Performs other clinical laboratory assistant duties as required.
